Rich cassis nose; sure there are plenty of currant aromas and flavours, but it’s also got a full-bodied and rich fruitiness to it. Perhaps too much; there’s a raisined quality to the flavours, and plenty of warmth on the finish. Shows some of the signs of the drought vintage; needed less alcohol, although for 12 years it’s travelling well enough. Doubt there’s improvement from further cellaring.
