Tuesday, June 7, 2022 - Wine Workshop: Heitz Martha's Vineyard (The Dutch): One of the best producers for '97 and a place that created a wine that doesn't seem to fall prey to the one dimensional fruit style that so many others do. There's definitely a darker boysenberry flavor here but also that mint and eucalyptus and just generally a great freshness to it. It's not my favorite year for Napa but I'd always be happy with this wine. Even more impressive since it's just a few years on the new rootstock after the phylloxera issues in '93.
