Friday, December 1, 2023 - Deep ruby, no sign of aging. Wonderful, expressive nose dominated by plums, but also lots of fresher tones in the vein of raspberries. A whiff of cherry core bitterness and almonds add to the complexity. Medium bodied attack, almost a burgundy feel, then the wine expands on the palate to reveal lots of plums and blackberries, but also with that fine raspberry freshness and cherry core bitterness. Fresh and long aftertaste where the fruit dominates over the finely grained tannins. This is much more elegant than I remember, and it really has a burgundy feel to it although the alcohol (a whopping 15%) is high. No alcohol feel in this wine. Amazing. Perhaps this score is a bit too low.
