Sunday, July 31, 2022 - This was delightful, with the delicious balance that others note. It is still very fresh for a 2005 vintage - lots of fruit in the form of berries and black cherries. It is not as powerful as I think I was expecting; it struck me as a little more subtle and delicate wine. There is just not a wrong note. That might be the one slight disappointment I found: that it was not hitting me with something unusual. However, there is about a third of the bottle left so maybe that is yet to come. Really great Burgundies keep evolving until the very end, and this one did evolve over time.

The valuation made it scary to open this bottle, but once opened, it was singing and so enjoyable with each sip. It is a super well-made wine. It could certainly age longer but is quite good now.
