Saturday, January 13, 2024 - Upon opening the bottle was greeted with a nose of fine leather, stewed plum, with an earthen layer. The palate includes boysenberry compote, mocha, earth, and some toasted oak. The tannins are crazy smooth, but have enough grip to be noticed. Up front, this wine is worthy of praise, but fell a little flat in the middle and finished short. I feel this winery is under-rated, and produces great wines at an incredible value. Looking to acquire more for the cellar. Would have scored a little higher if it had just a little more complexity in the middle. Drink sooner than later, up to 2026.
