95 Points

Sunday, October 4, 2015 - Popped and poured. Deep garnet core, pink rim. An absolutely stunning bottle – blackcurrant syrup, kirsch, mocha, liquorish, exotic spices, cedar-wood and faint hints of barnyard on the nose and palate. Rich, concentrated and sweet, but perfectly balanced by a solid structural backbone. Surprisingly fruity and not really showing off a whole lot of the (in)famous Pégaü funk, but has more than enough complexity to make it interesting. A very rare case of a superior bottle opened at exactly the right time – lucky me!
