Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - Having enjoyed this new find at the winery last month I wanted to pop a bottle to share w Mrs DavidandRose. While this isn't the same wine with a two hour decant, it continues to improve w time and I suspect will be even better as tonites debate wraps up.
Nice grip on the stems. Pine cone, bramble and black plum on the nose, with a hefty whiff of eucalyptus and alcohol. Vibrant, young fruit and plenty of tannins.
At the three hour mark this is a again a completely different wine. The pinecone, eucalyptus, and alcohol have all dissipated. While the fruit has diminished, the wine is much more balanced overall. At four hours this has earned a 93 and confirmed i'll open my next bottle at 2026 or beyond.
