Tuesday, December 31, 2019 - Pretty deep purple color. Explosive notes of blackberries, cassis, blueberries, sweet spices, some smoke, also some lavender, pepper and leather, as well as some flowery notes too. It‘s pretty full-bodied, but without being too opulent or heavy, has excellent freshness with pretty high acidity and medium tannin that is very silky. Excellent length. There is also some Viognier in this blend next to the Syrah. A superb Syrah that combines an almost Côte-Rôtie freshness with an extra level of Californian fruit and richness. Lovely.
