Tuesday, November 18, 2008 - A textbook California Syrah. Meat and dark fruit on the nose. A little thin-bodied, but the palate makes up for it with a lip-smacking array of smoke, spice, chocolate, and red and blue fruits. I feared this would be overblown (I've had too many Syrahs/Shirazes like that lately) but it delivers beautiful restraint and balance, showcasing what good Syrah should be. Fresh fruit flavors linger afterward. Delicious.
