Wednesday, December 8, 2021 - I am both a bit disappointed with the bottle (given who the winery is) and hopeful that the wine has the stuff to fill out over time.
Nice vibrant shimmery red, very pinot in colour. The aromas show strawberry, raspberry and rhubarb. Wine almost feels like the aroma of tartness coming through (it is weird but I pick up that sensation). Bit of cedar as well as spices (cloves, anise).
Overall flavours follow aromas. Add in cola ... which I am not really fond of. Definite tartness and slight bitter black tea streak at the same time. Medium acidity, vague drying tannins, medium to short finish. Definite bit of minerality (stoniness) as well.
