Saturday, June 21, 2014 - A teeming, deep nose: cedar, bark, spice, orange zest, an spice-like flair.
On the palate, un-oxidized, the wine's nuances were trenchant. Apple and funk, prunes and cherry, grass and flower. Very pretty. It danced around the palate. Once the wine was oxidized, there was a distinct tannin base that became increasingly sweet. It was very dark within a few hours. It toppled over, taste wise, very quickly. By the next day, the last glass was undrinkable. This wine had a good life for a short period. It's beautiful bouquet, stunted but vibrant.
