Saturday, May 5, 2012 - Allowed to breathe in the bottle for 2 hours. Nose of blueberry, anise and some mint. Full bodied with lots of ripe black and blue fruits. Lots of blackberry and blueberry with notes of leather, smoke and black pepper. Smooth and elegant mouthfeel. On the mid palate there is some typical Aussie chalkiness which quickly gives way to pepper and spice. The finish is about 30 seconds and features some spice and smooth tannins. This wine is beautifully balanced with plenty of fruit to go with nice structure and complexity. Still showing plenty of primary fruit and should drink at this level for several years. I hope my younger Glaetzer wines age this well. Worth seeking out!
