Saturday, September 20, 2014 - The 97 Vigna Chinera by Elio Grasso is a Nebbiolo surprisingly structured for the vintage. Nose with moist earth, dark tart fruit, leather, but also finesse. On palate similar image, textured, beautifully dry, pleasantly firm tannins, inner tension, earthy, red & black fruit, dried herbs and rose petals, powerfully masculine, defined; very good, rather tart fruit length. Ends on tannins and earthiness. Years to go.
