Thursday, October 24, 2013 - Nuits Potpourri (Arlequin Wines, San Francisco): After a false start with one corked bottle, this had a lighter red color and very pretty floral aromatics. Medium body, prominent acidity, good Nuits mix of black cherry and some earth. Linear and not very charming at present. I am mildly encouraged by the aromatic development and the presence of some fruit that is mostly in the background now . However, I'm not convinced about its balance going forward. Having said that, there is really is no choice other than to hold onto your bottles for another 5 or 10 years and see whether they soften and flesh out because they are certainly not enjoyable in their current state.
