Sunday, March 19, 2023 - Decanted 2 hours and was still quite primary on day 1. Big currant and plum flavors with lots of barrel and tobacco, followed by vanilla and mocha on the finish. Big and bold, taking over everything in your mouth. At this stage, needs a ribeye or other fatty cut of beef to compete. Vacu-sealed and had the rest of the bottle the next evening. Much more round and the fruit is subdued a bit, so not quite as overpowering. Catching hints of violets now, and not so much of the barrel showing. Great wine that still has a lot of development ahead. Drink now with 4 hours of decanting though 2037+.
