Big. Like, cover your whole damn mouth large. Cassis, tobacco, stewed plum and a bit of cherry. First taste after a 30 min decant. Stretched out the rest of the bottle over 3 hours. Whew boy. 95 pts easy.

Opened this up thinking it might be a little young but it is amazing right now (and obviously can go for years). Has an incredible nose, initial profile and lasting finish. Pretty amazing bottle of wine.

Decanted 2 hours and was still quite primary on day 1. Big currant and plum flavors with lots of barrel and tobacco, followed by vanilla and mocha on the finish. Big and bold, taking over everything in your mouth. At this stage, needs a ribeye or other fatty cut of beef to compete. Vacu-sealed and had the rest of the bottle the next evening. Much more round and the fruit is subdued a bit, so not quite as overpowering. Catching hints of violets now, and not so much of the barrel showing. Great wine that still has a lot of development ahead. Drink now with 4 hours of decanting though 2037+.

Decanted this wine in Riedesel glasses for an hour. This wine is a beautiful dark ruby in color. This wine has a wonderful nose of dark cherry, cassis, and earth tones. The wine across the palate is an ambrosia of subtle dark fruits, cigar tobacco, then chocolate. You could wait longer …it may get better …but it’s really fantastic now!

Decanted for several hours in the morning before rebottling and serving later. Nose of black cherry and cassis. Very well balanced with dark fruit and medium weight on the palate. Excellent overall with no detectable flaws.

Decanted for two hours. Ready to go. QC is such a great winery. If in Napa these wines would be double the price. Tons of plum and lavender and wet stone on palate. Nose is rather muted but still young. Always enjoy QC. Top WA wines.

I wanted to check in on a bottle of this before the upcoming release as I don't hold much WA cabs but have grown partial to QC, especially their QPR heavyweight CVR bottling.
I decanted this about an hour before dinner, and it was great - very smooth and open for business. Potential for a point or two higher in a few years, but no harm in opening this now with a quick decant.

Unlike any qc I’ve had. This was very ripe with dark cherry, cassis, earth flavors.
