I like modern Ribera wines but like to balance those purchases with different styles. I had regarded Alion as among the more restrained modern wines. This isn't much different to a disappointing 2006 Pago de Carraovejas I had last year. Interestingly a 2004 Pago last week had more integrated oak and was a much better drink. I hope with time this improves
as at the moment for the price it's daylight robbery.
