Wednesday, January 12, 2022 - This pours light ruby with minimal bricking. The nose opens nicely to show good complexity and light signs of maturity. The nose is of red cherry, twiggy underbrush, a touch of petrichor, some integrated nutty oak, a touch of dried ginger, fresh cremini mushroom, and ripe raspberry. Quite appealing and beautiful on the nose. The palate enters on the red fruit but is really dominated by the structure with bitter medium tannin and medium acid. The nose is quite good on this but the palate does hold it back a bit. This very old school and I think it could really use a little more age to round out a bit more.
