Saturday, October 14, 2023 - First time having this since the 2000 vintage, and a great reminder of why Tondonia rosado is the bottle that first got me into wine. Light oxidative notes like a whiff of Madeira and roasted nuts, but fairly subtle and plays well with the high acid, orange peel, minerals and panoply of red fruit on the palate. American oak imprinted in the wine, which pokes out a bit to start, but integrates after an hour or two. Waxy texture and excellent mid-palate despite the delicate, fine-boned structure. Complex, savory finish. Not sure it improves from here but certainly will keep at this level for several years.
