Friday, August 5, 2022 - Bought and consumed in the Netherlands. Introvert nose, not as floral as I hoped for from a Fleurie. Where are the esters of violets and bright field and forest flowers? The mouthfeel is pleasant, round despite the noticeable and it itself nice acidity. Licorice flavors from the gamay shines, dominates and lingers. Almost one dimensional. The wine has an impressive low abv of 12.5% in a hot year. Incomplete fermentation? There is something that held this wine back in nose and flavors. Not a wine to dislike but unfortunately not as good as a Fleurie should be, not what I hoped for and not a repeat purchase at 23 euros.
