Sunday, March 5, 2023 - Hadn’t touched my small stash of Black Fruit since I purchased it from the winery. Short decant and it seemed ready to go. Blue and black fruits, violets and cassis on the nose. Fairly rich, smooth, chalky finish with integrated tannins. Nice finish, Drinking well at this stage, considering the vintage. Well done, minds me of the 2014 Juliet.

3/11/2023 12:01:00 PM - I’m responding to your note about Napa in May. I only use the app, which has no message board. You can always e-mail me offline (jgrunlan@gmail.com). For TRB, I’m not a fan of Mending Wall. I love Vermeil, where he’s the consultant. Outpost is worth visiting. 4 Winds is also worth visiting. Other fruit forward winemakers I love: Sam Kaplan (Arkenstone and Vangone), Russell Bevan (Bevan Cellars and Addax), and Tony Biagi (Hourglass and Patria). Seven Apart is a terrific tasting. Turnbull is very reliable. I could go on and on… Cheers FB!
