Sunday, September 17, 2023 - After a two hour decant notes of plum, black currant cordial, menthol, cherry molasses & fresh tilled earth emerge from the glass.
The palate is rich with umami and more ripe blue/black fruit. Tannins are like fine sandpaper and the finish lasts over 2 minutes. I don’t find this wine in the least funky though there is a textural component that is a little off on its own.
With a pork chop, swiss chard & a ragout of beans the wine shows much more elegance and finesse.
