Wednesday, March 18, 2020 - The fruit from this vineyard lies just to the West of the Winderlea estate vineyard and extends upward to 700' elevation. 100% clone 115 aged 10 months in French Oak, 6% new. 188 total cases produced.
Extremely light in it's ruby color that is transparent and star bright.
The nose translates this "lightness". Shy and lean aromas of cranberry, wild brambly raspberry, forest floor hints of herb and baking spice.
The palate is lithe and lean. Structurally this wine has above moderate acidity, moderate tannins and mid-palate weight. Lean flavors of bramble, dried raspberry, cranberry and baking spice accompany notes of herbs and earth. The finish is a bit short and falls off abruptly.
Definitely a lighter style that does not require, or invoke, much thought. A-typical for this producer.
