Sunday, January 13, 2008 - Color is the expected deep purple. On the nose there is vibrant raspberry on the forefront with dusty oak with some vegetable, eucalyptus, red licorice, and a bit of black pepper. On the palate, this becomes jammy and even more fruity, with puckering acids on the middle and finish. There is a sligh hint of spice on the finish --perhaps ginger or clove. Quite hot, although not entirely unbalanced against the high alcohol. Very interesting and certainly complex, but the fruit and heat are a bit too much. Try again in a year or two. 89-91.
