Thursday, January 28, 2010 - I bought this bottle because it was made by the same producer of Chateau de Beaucastel (Perrin). On the nose, I got an earthy smell and not much else. I took a taste and decided to let it decant for about 20 minutes. I took a sniffy-sniff again and found the earthy smell again prominent in this region of CdP. This wine is made up of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsaut. on the tasting, I got a cranberry jam and dark cherry overtones. It was delicious to taste after I drank it. I only drank half the bottle and will kill the other half tonight hoping that allowing it to breathe will bring out some different smells.
