Medium depth, red with slight orange rim. Moderate intensity, pleasant, red currants. Medium weight, good acid introduction followed by significant but not excessive tannins and in the finish. Little flavour though. Ok.

An immediate candied raspberry, rubber nose, with air; more red fruit, spices, bell pepper, black olive. Flavor profile is similar, fleeting red fruit (like red berries, plum)/green beans, and hay. Thin and acidic, bitter tannins, not a lot there. Light see-through magenta. Better with food.

11/3/10 at home alone. Every time I have this wine I am amazed how good it is for such a tiny ($6.99) price. Very dark. Excellent nose, loads of rich fruit gush from the glass. Matched on the palate by lovely lush fruit that is forward and flavory yet still incredibly well-structured. What a value! 5-12-17-8: 92/100

Consistent in quality with other vintages. Not as ripe as '09, not as thin as '07, this falls nicely in the middle as a reliable wine that delivers basic goodness. Plays out well against red meat, which for us was in the form of Guinness stew.

Wanted an inexpensive night wine and there it was, a Ventoux. Twist and pour. Dusty nose with faint fruit and perhaps a bit of earth. In the mouth good acid and sour ripe deep fruit (plum, blackberry, perhaps cherry) followed by a warm finish with strong waxy dark chocolate infused with bittersweet herbs (might be bitter tannin, not sure). Off-dry, has a bit of sweet in it. Body medium, acid medium, tannin medium. 13.5%. Has an interesting finish but tends to have an aftertaste and is not well-balanced. Sigh, well I like the twist top, perhaps the bottle is off.

It's a hollow, by that I mean there is no mid-palate. It starts out with a bit of sour plum and finishes with heavy dry tannins It is not very good. C- at best.

A pleasant Rhone Valley wine that will please many and disappoint a few. We found the medium purple color and pleasant aroma very nice. The wine also was pleasant but had no legs and the taste did not linger long in the mouth. A good quaffing wine would be a better description. Reminded me of an reasonable Baujolais Nouveau.

The wine looks Purple colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like and Vanilla. It tastes like Vanilla, and Mineral. The body is Light. The wine is textured Narrow. The wine finishes Short. Over powered by Vanilla, very unusual, never tasted a wine like this before. Could be flawed.

Nice color for a cheap wine ($6.49), but that's pretty much where it ends. Nose has unappetizing green notes with some earth and spice, but not at all expressive or attractive. Palate enters full enough, but hollows out into a thin finish with plenty of minerality and tannins, but little to no fruit. There is also lots of heat on the finish. Not a terrible wine when considering the price point (and I always factor that into the equation). This wine is out of balance.

This was supposed to be included in a Rose flight and the color puzzled me. Given my vast knowledge of french wines, I finally made the obvious connection that this was not Rose, I started to think about the wine (once I got the damn ice chill off the wine and warmed it up!). Dark spice nose, with a bit of a gingerbread oak-like note, with the oak also showing up in the body of the wine. Also seemed quite big and ripe, and married with the oak, I would have not guessed french, aside from a bit of the funky, stable note that is in the palate of the wine. I wonder as to whether this wine was opened too soon or is this the style of the producer. This wine needs another 1-2 years to settle (?).

Village Wine Tasting (Village Hall): Deep red, grenache nose of cherries and pepper. Quite complex tastes with more cherries but some plum fruit, spice and earth. Seems very sweet - not too hot so probably sugar rather than alcohol. Very soft in the mouth - Easy to drink and enjoyable

Popped and poured. On the sniffy sniff, I get some spicy and earthy smells along with cherries and strawberries. The taste is full bodied with some nice fruit. It also has a chalky mouthfeel but not in a bad way, cocoa and cherries.

Nose: pretty decent tea and black fruit aromas. Palate: light bodied, a little watery. very little front end structure and midpalate, but a decent back end of black pepper. off balance. acidic finish with the black pepper lingering around.

I purchased this bottle by recommendation of the liquor store staff and the price. This bottle of La Vieille Ferme did not suit my pallet at all, I found to be very thin with an earthy smell and not much else. I took a taste and decided to let it decant for about 15 minutes and found the earthy smell still prominent. On tasting, I got a cranberry jam and dark cherry undertone but predominantly I kept thinking green bitter tannins and could not finish the bottle.

Better when allowed to breathe for a bit. Very enjoyae table wine. Soft enough for foods better paired with whites, not quite hearty enuogh for a big steak.

Pop and pour through the Nuance Wine Finer. Dark ruby color. Cherry and a little spice on the nose, with an earthy smell too. I also (after reading other TNs) get the cranberry coming through a bit too. Cherries on the palate, soft tannins, a little gritty earthiness to it too. Pretty light. Nice food wine and excellent QPR under $7 btl. Will get more for daily drinking. Aloha!

I bought this bottle because it was made by the same producer of Chateau de Beaucastel (Perrin). On the nose, I got an earthy smell and not much else. I took a taste and decided to let it decant for about 20 minutes. I took a sniffy-sniff again and found the earthy smell again prominent in this region of CdP. This wine is made up of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsaut. on the tasting, I got a cranberry jam and dark cherry overtones. It was delicious to taste after I drank it. I only drank half the bottle and will kill the other half tonight hoping that allowing it to breathe will bring out some different smells.
