99 Points

Thursday, July 15, 2021 - This was a sensational mature Yquem which showed all the tertiary complexity, super high precision, superb freshness, vibrancy and tension and a perfect balance. I like my fruit profile a little bit less in the dried spectrum (not a fan of dried plum aromas). Still, 98/99 for me.

TN: Explosive nose jumping out of the glass with a rainbow of intense and hyper precise aromas of fudge, caramel, butterscotch, bakery aromas, a potpourri dried fruits (plum) and fresh fruits and fresh citrus aromas. Wonderfully inviting and harmonious. The sensation continuous on the palate which shows the same aromatic complexity with additional pronounced nuances of herbal, salty, mushroom, more citrus and saffron aromas. Very harmonious and round, superbly vivid and fresh, full of tension, not too sweet or in any way cloying. Very clean and long.

Decanting: Not decanted and no decanting necessary. Little change over two hours.

Glass: Gabriel
