Friday, February 18, 2011 - This Shiraz from the Barossa Valley is a perfect example of why Australia should not be overlooked for high quality wine production. This is a few steps away from the legendary Grange label, but shows tremendous structure. Notes of plum, dark and red berries, vanilla, mint. Some spice from the very present but well-integrated french oak lend great complexity. With medium acidity and firm tannins, the body of the wine is smooth and takes a long finish. All elements are in harmony and make for an enjoyable experience.
