Sunday, September 4, 2016 - This a very balanced and food-friendly CdP. Medium (+) ruby with some garnet on the rim. The nose is clean and still developing, with ripe red fruit and black fruit and little earthiness. The palate is dry and consistent with the nose, but with both tart and ripe fruit. The acidity and tannins are medium. The alcohol is medium (+) to high (at $14%) but not really out of balance. The body, flavor intensity and length are medium (+). It actually paired very well with a grilled peppered tuna steak with roasted potatoes and Provencal herbs. It is definitely in its optimal drinking window now and - although it could certainly age for several more years - I would be inclined to drink it in the shorter term.
