95 Points

Sunday, March 27, 2011 - Popped, filter-decanted and enjoyed over a few hours. Dark, opaque, purple in color. Inky. Currently, I recommend decanting for two hours before consuming. This is a great wine, but still a bit young, edgy and raw. Strong senses of blackberry, raspberry, some unripened green fruit, plumb and it evolves well with some breathing time. Fruit predominates the midpalate and it hits you firmly with more layers of dark fruit, espresso and dark chocolate. The finish is of good length and has a pleasing green, tannic bite. Well balenced and well built. Although approachable now, I would recommend a couple of more years of cellar time. Great Aussie Shiraz with a bright future!
