Thursday, January 14, 2010 - Pop and pour. Let's see where this goes. Intense aromatics. Even now a complex richness. Cinnamon apple sauce. Honey. I'm missing the asian fruit here?? There is something of an oxidative nature, but its more of a yellowing (lees) than a browning (of aromas), galliano!! The color of a flat miller high life. Golden. A plethora of orange pith liquors. Honeydew melon is what I've been trying to get to. Wild nose. Not for everyone. Tangerine!
And then on the palate finish is quite almondine, but light and bright and kind of ghostly. A dry richness. Texturally not quite as crazy as I expected, but finishes with an appley spice and did I mention almond? I take that back, it would be nice to see this shed some of that tannin texture.
DAY 2 dry botrytis is noted by ben off the nose. Dry sauternes. Wild palate. Grassy floral. Orange vitamin and that almond.
