Saturday, February 4, 2023 - Everyone loved this wine, but for me, it was third best relative to a San Leonardo and Malescot-St. Exupery. The fruit of the Clos Apalta was simpler and more cloying, without the richness of pepper and tobacco of the San Leonardo or the earth of the Malescot. All three wines will improve greatly with age, but this one needs improvement more than the other two.
