Thursday, December 23, 2021 - Writing this note a few days later so no formal notes. Served blind next to a 2018 Carter Carter, 2018 Kinsman La Voleuse, and a 2018 Vice Versa Houyi. All wines were double decanted 6 hours in advance of tasting. My favorite on the 23rd, this had classic TRB velvety purple fruit, and open for business. Still have some to try tonight but this was so solid.

12/26/2021 12:18:00 PM - Year in and year out a great bottle of wine. I'm excited about the 19 release that is right around the corner. Some great early critic reviews makes this to be a promising release.

    12/26/2021 12:20:00 PM - LPB TN's on 19 TV (97-100)

The opaque purple-black colored 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon True Vineyard comes from the nine-acre True vineyard up on Howell Mountain. A little swirling of the glass sets the nose soaring with notions of crème de cassis, blackberry pie and stewed plums, giving way to nuances of Chinese five spice, crushed rocks and iron ore with a touch of lavender. The full-bodied palate is super rich and concentrated, delivering decadent black fruit preserves and spicy layers, framed by ripe, rounded tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with epic length. Wow—that's a lot of wine! For hedonists only... (Tasted as a barrel sample.)

12/27/2021 8:06:00 AM - Thanks for the LPB tasting note. I actually just got the WA online subscription this Christmas so I have been pouring over their reviews the last few days!

Outpost True is a great buy year in and year out. Also enjoy the Immigrant bottling which adds some nice softness with the merlot and CF components.

Hope you had a good holiday (and drank some good wines!)

12/27/2021 12:02:00 PM - You signed up just in time for LPB to be leaving the RP helm. I'm wondering who is going to be replacing her!? Big shoes to fill, again!

As for OP. I'm a big fan of the immigrant blend. I do find the Estate wine can be a bit sweet depending upon vintage but otherwise still a great value even though the prices have been edging up after the sale of the property.
