Monday, April 1, 2024 - Decanted about an hour. The colour was quite deep, beyond wedding ring, so I was a bit apprehensive about premature oxidation. This risk, and I've had it with these wines as well as with Hüet's, has given me reason to drink these earlier than I used to. However, nothing of the sort was in evidence here. Blind, experienced tasters could go for a Riesling. The fruit is evident on the nose and in the mouth. Scents of ripe, sweet pear and citrus over a weaker yet evident layer of fresh herbs. In the mouth, the fullness of the fruit is equally there together with fresh yet non-intrusive acidity. Good length. It was equally good as an aperitif as with a lovely dish of scallops and other delights. Excellent wine, though not outstanding.
