Decanted about an hour. The colour was quite deep, beyond wedding ring, so I was a bit apprehensive about premature oxidation. This risk, and I've had it with these wines as well as with Hüet's, has given me reason to drink these earlier than I used to. However, nothing of the sort was in evidence here. Blind, experienced tasters could go for a Riesling. The fruit is evident on the nose and in the mouth. Scents of ripe, sweet pear and citrus over a weaker yet evident layer of fresh herbs. In the mouth, the fullness of the fruit is equally there together with fresh yet non-intrusive acidity. Good length. It was equally good as an aperitif as with a lovely dish of scallops and other delights. Excellent wine, though not outstanding.

30 minute decant. Bought on release. This is such a complete wine..the whole package. Nice acidity in perfect balance with tangerine, light lemon, grass with great length. This could easily be a grand cru white bordeaux. The value here is quite evident and it can easily evolve for 10+ years. I have five more bottles, but now that doesnt seem like enough. This really matured since my last bottle 2-3 yrs ago.

Pale gold. Medium plus on the nose. Bruised apple hits me first, follow by straw, honey, wool, honeysuckle. Developing. Palate is dry, high acid, high alcohol, medium plus intensity, medium plus finish. Similar flavor as the aroma. Apple, waxy, straw, ripe stone fruits, mineral. Long finish. Outstanding wine. Drink now with potential to age.

Pnp, tasted over two days. Quite complex, bruised apple, grapefruit, quince, dried pineapple, apricot, spicy oak, wax, marzipan, mineral. Dry. Slightly fat mouthfeel, acidity is medium plus. Notable phenolic component which mellowed on day 2. This is obviously a high end chenin blanc, great complexity with noticeable oxidization and (I would guess) some passerillage or even botrytis. Rich, yet with tension. Acidity is a bit on the soft side though, undoubtedly a vintage characteristic. Best on day 1. My mind goes to Savennières, then I’m not familiar with Chidaine, so maybe this is typical of the house style.

The most Unctuous and concentrated in the lineup, with great minerals and lip smacking acidity. The RS is minimal, so don’t be dissuaded by that. This is a fabulous wine.
