Thursday, September 21, 2023 - Had a few bottles of these at a dinner in the French Riviera. I assume this is the 2nd wine from Domains Chevalier
This was open and expressive immediately upon opening. It had slightly ripe to overripe black fruits on the nose, and a noticeable meatyness (not Brett) that added great complexity. The green notes were subtle rather than a pronounced part of the wine. Over time the fruits faded and the oak became the most noticeable part.
The palate was quite refined with elegant and soft tannins (medium to medium-) and this is best consumed in the next 5 years I think.
An excellent QPR for Bordeaux.
