  • A more wound up and tight but the fruit is still expressive.

  • Wow, what a lovely wine! Very juicy, live, crisp with ripe red and black fruits, perfect balance, harmony, acidity and tannins.
The smell is full of black cherry and blackberry, milk chocolate, earth and flowers ( what a beautiful mix) The wine is on the sweet side of red wines, but with vigorous acidity, it is juicy (I repeat myself - no good), delicious and highly drinkable.
I wish all wines with about €20 price tag could be this kind of quality.
2019 in Graves got 96 points according to the WA Vintage Guide.
    How about the wine?

  • A bit green on the nose in a good way though. The green pepper goes again on the palate with some delicate spices - mostly vanilla notes from the oak. The green pepper indicates probably that the wine is to young. But I like it as it is and also look forward to see how it develops. Palate has intensity and ndulging fresh red and dark fruit and is medium/full body. Medium/+ acid and medium tannins. Long intense lenght.

  • I got the impression that the wine contained a significant amount of dark cherry juice, as this note was quite prominent on the palate. The wine had almost no aftertaste, and it appeared to be ready to drink even at such a young age, exactly as intended by the producer.

  • Had a few bottles of these at a dinner in the French Riviera. I assume this is the 2nd wine from Domains Chevalier
This was open and expressive immediately upon opening. It had slightly ripe to overripe black fruits on the nose, and a noticeable meatyness (not Brett) that added great complexity. The green notes were subtle rather than a pronounced part of the wine. Over time the fruits faded and the oak became the most noticeable part.
The palate was quite refined with elegant and soft tannins (medium to medium-) and this is best consumed in the next 5 years I think.
    An excellent QPR for Bordeaux.
