Wednesday, May 13, 2015 - Carnitas night (My place): A very elegant, leaner styled claret that still has lots of depth and complexity, but on the sort of lightweight frame I rarely ever see in Bordeaux these days. There's very little apparent tannin here, but a lot of acidity to provide structure and a sense of freshness, and very fresh dark fruited flavours tinged with more savoury earthy, leathery, and faintly herbal notes that emerge with air. It picks up depth and intensity with time in the glass, but always remains remarkably light and graceful on the palate.
