Friday, December 1, 2023 - Today's encounter with this wine is very similar to that noted in July 2022: polished, round, lovely, and fragrant, the 2019 Léoville Poyferré really does burst from the glass with perfectly ripe raspberry, black cherry, floral perfume, and pencil. This feels polished without being overly coiffed; the tannin is actually a good counterpoint to the overall elegance of the wine though it's refined enough (and the aromatic elements are lovely enough) that this might well drink by age 12 - though the sève and acidity suggest a very long life ahead. The '19 Poyferré has a real noblesse.
