Tuesday, October 24, 2023 - Last time I had this Sauternes, it was the 2014 with about 7yrs on it. This was an accidental open at a party, so I followed for three days out of bottle.

My note is very similar to the ‘14. Tropically exotic and rich. Botrytis to the core. Pineapple upside down cake on the nose with honeyed apricots. Viscous and totally giving on the palate with yellow fruit and sweet baking spices. Similar to the ‘14, I didn’t find the honey roasted cashew profile I get with my favorite Sauternes (age sometimes helps), but this is delicious and sports decent QPR. Obviously lots of runway for improvement.

Also, this is evidently Barsac but labeled as Sauternes.
