Bright, golden yellow in colour, with a wide rainy, translucent rim.
Citrusy and tropical on the nose with pineapples, mangoes, apricots, peaches, honey, lemons, oranges, and slight hint of vanilla.
Thick, dense, and unctuously sweet on the palate with mostly vanilla and creme burlee notes in the beginning. The tropical fruits and citrus start coming through in the mid palate with grapefruits, pineapples, apricots and honey.
Unfortunately, the finish falls a bit short for me with some bitter aftertaste. A tad more acidity would also help balance out the sweetness and vanilla.

Last time I had this Sauternes, it was the 2014 with about 7yrs on it. This was an accidental open at a party, so I followed for three days out of bottle.
My note is very similar to the ‘14. Tropically exotic and rich. Botrytis to the core. Pineapple upside down cake on the nose with honeyed apricots. Viscous and totally giving on the palate with yellow fruit and sweet baking spices. Similar to the ‘14, I didn’t find the honey roasted cashew profile I get with my favorite Sauternes (age sometimes helps), but this is delicious and sports decent QPR. Obviously lots of runway for improvement.
Also, this is evidently Barsac but labeled as Sauternes.

Bought from total wine, cork was moldy on the outside (i guess no big deal) but when I pulled the cork it showed signs of an odd discoloration on the inside, nose was off but decided to try it anyways and while it wasn't repulsive it was not a pleasant experience, judging by other tasting note on here I think I'll stay away from this vintage...

Aromatic and perfumed with notes of lemon, marmalade, apricot, pineapple, orange, nectarine, honeysuckle, clove, and vanilla.
Sweet with medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, and a medium+ body.
The finish is long with flavors of dried apricots, ripe pineapple, orange zest, and honey.
An excellent Sauternes with a focus on delicate fruity and floral notes rather than dried and aged flavors.
