Thursday, March 4, 2021 - Now seemingly rebranded as Les Baronnes, this is intriguing as an example of Sancerre Rouge.
Colour: medium deep red, medium rim, brown tinge.
Nose: Q full, mature, ripe, morello cherries, touch of gaminess, plums.
Taste: light body, q assertive, tannic, mod. good fruit, morello cherries and plums, med finish, somewhat harsh, tannic and short on fruit, raspberries.
Overall, this has the potential to have more substance than many red Sancerres. However, after a couple of hours of opening up, it loses its roundness, which is a shame. Early on there were notes of reduction but these blew off. Try again?
