Monday, June 30, 2014 - This is certainly a ripe style (and year) of pinot noir. It's very good in it's style but it is not my favorite style of pinot noir. To me the QPR is not worth it as I can get this same experience for less $$$.
- Nose of ripe fruit, red & dark cherries, a little spice
- On the palate ripe red & black cherry flavors dominate with a blue fruit note present. It's almost a bit sweet (wonder what the residual sugar is). Very light note of spice (wood cask spice?). The attack and mid-palate is strong and it makes the finish seem subdued comparatively. The tannins are smooth and resolved.
