Friday, November 3, 2023 - Mushroom, earth, tobacco nose. Initially skewed very high acid but calmed down in the decanter to be only modestly acid forward. Still a little tight though I worry too high acidity for the fruit currently present which is fairly subtle. Nice plush texture. Has some suggestion of an elegant burgundy. Bought at auction. Could be quite nice in a few years … or way too acid heavy. Alcohol is prettty well covered but it does seep through the seams. Smoothed out on day 2 suggesting it has a few years to go.
