90 Points

Saturday, May 13, 2023 - Color/App: medium-deep yellow core; medium + viscosity. Slightly reticent nose that after some coaxing revealed lemon zest, white peach, vanilla and some wet slate minerality. A bit more zing on the palate showing citrus, green melon, apple and a touch of salinity. Honestly, I was hoping for more intensity given the "oldest, un-grafted vineyard ... vines averaging 150 yeaars old" bit. This is a nice, well-made wine that strikes me as no better than Nisia or other old-vine Verdejos. I'll age a few to see if it gains depth as a few of my favorite Verdejos have.
