93 Points

Sunday, August 28, 2011 - This classic St Julien is an elegant offering, Concentrated brick red colour with brown edge. The nose is cedarbox, tobacco, red fruits and spice, very aromatic. I am delighted with the finesse and structure after 22 years. It is at its peak now and losing some of the forward red and black currant fruit driven flavours of the past. I have previously rate this 96 points 3 years ago. It still has plenty of spice and tannins so it may well keep for a few years more. I hope it does not suddenly dry out soon.I will be evaluating this wine closely from now onwards.
