This wine has been so under appreciated by many cellar tracker aficionados imo. Colour red brick meniscus with dark red concentrated centre. Forget the predominate legs just glycerol furthermore no jammy taste either! Nose predominately soft vanilla oak & red fruit plus cassis with subtle black current lozenge aromas and a hint of spice. I thoroughly enjoyed the 1995 but this way more complex when tasting now. The whole mouth feel is in balance with wonderful black fruit, fresh acidity & well structured relatively mellow but structured tannins.A beautiful balanced wine near or at its peak. Elegance personified. Congratulations to Beringer & Edward you made this for the long haul & succeeded.

Golden yellow colour, nose is elegant with rich tropical fruit overlaid with complex ripe gooseberry with honey final tones. This has rich, powerful, complex flavours, semillon dominates but sauvignon acidity balances the richness. I am so surprised how this wine has developed, now it is superior to both Domaine de Chevalier or Laville Haut Brion 2001, it is that good. Drinking at its peak now but no signs of fading.I believe that many tasters on CT are confined to rating wines according to their prestige and hierachy rather than actual taste. This wine is exceptional.

Colour, dark brick red concentrated centre with slight orange brown meniscus, nose of complex cherry lozenge & spiced plums. Smooth tannin mouthfeel , spice, liquorice, and blackcurrant with pepper spice back palate, good acidity and still some length. A great food wine excellent with roast beef! The wine is holding up well after 15 years. Impressed by Gary Farr's winemaking skills with this multi-blend 'one off' shiraz.
