Wednesday, December 25, 2013 - had high expectations. Decanted it an hour before drinking. Initially looked pale in the decanter but on the edge of the glass, it is in fact quite deep and dark. There was nothing on the nose when first opened but it then really opened up by the time it reached the glass. Cork travel was about a third of the way up. Lots of wood. For a wine of this calibre and age, it all depends on its provenance and how it has been kept. It's just passing its peak now and needs drinking up.
