Wednesday, August 29, 2018 - Wow, can’t believe this wine has 10+ years on it! Deep ruby with slight garnet at the rim. Big concentrated aromas of black cherry, cassis and licorice provide the initial aroma profile while cedar and tobacco reveal themselves as you dig deeper into the glass. Cocoa powder and mint complete this intense wine. Full-bodied and creamy on the palate with a fair amount of acidity left (I can only imagine how much acid and tannin this had on release) and tannins that still have some grip left. Long pleasing finish. This wine still has a lot of life left, however, what makes this wine great is the purity and concentration of fruit and that is peaking now. Excellent wine!
