Wednesday, January 30, 2008 - If you are going to enjoy this wine now, then two things need to be understood, as based on my perception of tasting the wine. 1) Air it. It needs to soften and don't make the mistake of judging the wine too quickly--IT'S YOUNG. And 2) recognize that this wine tastes like a barrel sample, with lots of wood/oak but also big jammy fruit and a big push of flavor. In my book, at least a year from being ready and while I found the 2004 to be doing better with that extra year, this 2005 needs time to settle.
